I am quite sensitive, although I am proud to have been able to develop the skill of communicating effectively even when I am upset. I have quite a lot of experience with children and teaching, in particular, volunteering in a primary school and after school club weekly for nine months and being the leader of Islamic society in my secondary school for three and a half years - a title which I feel has shaped me a lot as a person and taught me the importance of admitting when I need help and considering the children’s needs and expectations over my own wishes for the way Islamic society was run and how future sessions and activities would look going forward. Through this experience, I was taught the valuable skill of accepting feedback without getting defensive or seeing it as just criticism. When I am upset, I sometimes need space to process my thoughts initially, but I value good communication and I think it is essential for a marriage to work.
